Relationship Counseling

All people in relationships deal with the same fundamental human dilemma; how to stay connected to another human and maintain a separate self. These two opposing needs, the need for connection and the need for autonomy form much of rhythmic tides that all couples must navigate. Navigating these differences in a way that both promotes the relationship and balances the needs of each individual in the relationship requires a skill set, a practice, and a philosophy, all of which are learnable, but not hardwired in at birth.

All of our counselors have advanced training in couples therapy,  and can help you to develop or fine tune your relationship skill set. This includes  communication tools, emotional regulation tools, behavioral tools, and a philosophical perspective that allows for two separate people to thrive in a collaborative relationship.

Please feel free to contact us so that we can support you and your relationship.

Child & Family Therapy

Counseling can help children and families overcome challenges, improve communication, and build stronger, more supportive relationships. By providing a safe and supportive environment, our counselors can help families improve their overall well-being and quality of life and help children develop the emotional and behavioral skills they need to succeed.

Major life transitions, such as the birth of a child, the death of a loved one, divorce, remarriage/blended families, moving, or conflict between family members can be stressful for adults and children alike. We will help you navigate these transitions and develop coping skills to maintain connection and family stability.

Children experience anxiety, depression and trauma just as adults do. They may exhibit behavioral issues such as defiance, aggression, or acting out that disrupt their daily lives and relationships. Counseling can help identify the root causes of these behaviors and develop strategies to address them.

We are honored to be a part of helping your family to connect and grow through difficult times.

Psychiatric Services
&
Medication Management

Puget Sound Psychotherapy & Psychiatry offers psychiatric services, including prescription medication management, in Seattle, Washington. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners (ARNP) have extensive training and experience treating adult individuals, children, and teens. We look forward to working with you.

Please note none of our psychiatric ARNPs are in-network with Medicare, Medicaid, AppleCare, Molina, or Tri-care.

Due to being independent providers without backup support or wrap-around care options, we are unable to provide services for those who are actively suicidal - please look for a larger clinic or organization that has more staff and support to help provide for your safety and a higher level of care.
